This movie was so goood! But I’m so completely lost 😭 if the Father was real, then how did the daughter turn out to be “the evil?” Up until that point I thought Momma’s illusions were reality, but now I’m not so sure.

I think that Momma was crazy and that crazy rubbed off on Samuel. This would explain his behavior after her death (the trauma of seeing her that way likely added to it). But we can’t deny that Samuel’s behavior got even crazier after being touched by “The Evil.” And if it was all an illusion in Samuel’s head, how did Nolan come into contact with “The Evil” in the house? It’s all confusing! But life does appear to be completely normal for everybody in the real world.

Maybe they were all mentally unwell and under some sort of generational demonic oppression… but still… the picture… Sam’s behavior after his encounter in the woods… I’m afraid I’ll never be sure if the evil is real or not. One thing’s for sure though? DAMN GOOD MOVIE!!
