Conjuration is actually pretty important late game. Soul trapping the Daedra that you summon is the best way to amass grand and great soul gems for enchanting and recharging your weapon.

Having an exploitable system is better than it was in OG Oblivion. After 60+ hours of play, you might have Destruction at 75 and Restoration at 50 on the old game. In remastered, it tends to level up at the same rate as other magic schools, where reaching 100 in Destruction or Restoration is actually possible.
