No one should claim the idea of using digital creatures to tcl over a digital landscape. It's bougus only the characters should have copyright protection if it's for money gain as it was in the past. Back then it was the fans that got any gamers pumped up for the game and not commercials that cost insane amount of cash. You put a stop on the free advertisement, the potential of future animators and game developers, your game eventually dies, slow or cliff drop quick. Minecraft nearly bit the dust with the same problem. If it happens once and to a well rounded game it can definitely happen to anyone.

If Midoria wasn't the inheritor of one for all his story would be different. He would been a sideline person only watching others use quirks. Unless the creator would have had him inherit his mom's quirk as a late bloomer regardless of a theory based on a singular bone. A blood test for quirk infused DNA would make more sense. But regardless it wouldn't be fun to see a civilian having a story about heroes and missions unless his analysis was used for the data gathering.
