I would say Call of Duty is probably the second most popular FPS shooter of all time, can’t believe it’s not even in the list, but it’s significantly more popular than games like Wolfenstein and Far Cry and it’s the highest grossing game franchise in the industry for FPS’s. Edit: I just looked it up and Call of duty is the highest grossing franchise in gaming ever worth over $30 billion.
Microsoft’s decision not to release an Xbox Series X Pro to compete with the PS5 Pro feels like a missed opportunity. While subscription services and studio acquisitions are valuable, they don’t address the core issue: Sony is dominating in console sales. Xbox fans expect their favorite games to perform at their best on Xbox hardware, yet with no mid-cycle refresh, games may actually run better on a PS5 Pro. Mid-cycle upgrades make sense in a fast-moving tech landscape, giving gamers access to higher performance without waiting for an entirely new generation. It’s disappointing to see Xbox lag behind when so many loyal fans are ready for more.
