It's a tricky one. Yes, monetarily it seems like a bargain (especially on the incubator front), but paying that for what is essentially a digital, non tangible product doesn't feel right to me. Saying that, I'm from an age when buying a game meant buying a complete physical product, which is obviously impossible in this case.

Having played every Soulsbourne game bar Demon Souls, I can comfortably state without irony, it was always my favourite. For context I've got the platinum on PS4 and 1000g on Xbox 360. All the others I've played through 1-3 times but none have been as enjoyable to play.

DS2 isn't perfect (lots of human knight enemies, odd matchmaking and incredibly dodgy archery mechanics), but the locations/ lore/ replayability/ multiplayer areas were outstanding.

A controversial take, but that's just how it's worked out to my tastes!

Perhaps remove some of the user friendly touches on higher difficulties?

Removing the 'yellow paint' (Or equivalent of) for example, would make things more immersive, but still provide pointers on more casual/ new player runs. That way the hardcore survival purists can crack on and those that like a story without constant fear of soft locking etc. Wouldn't necessarily feel ostracized.

As a rule, Rogue and Super Skull are not effective against on reveal decks as they target ongoing abilities. Shadow King will hurt Taskmaster and Sage but do little to Gorr and mystique. They may knock off the power buffs from Ironheart etc. But all the on reveals on the board, including the counters, still fuel their abilities. I get what you are saying in the article, but your writing is a little misleading. Silver Samurai and Moon Knight (With Grandmaster) have done better for me as counters, with Rogue as a counter to Ravonna. Rogue is too easy to play around if the opponent has priority in the later game, so keeping Gorr at 6 cost has been the clincher on multiple occasions... With Fenris wolf on the sidelines as a cheeky kicker.
