Honestly, even if a game is a disc, if it's online only play then it being shutdown would make it unplayable anyway. If it requires the ability to sign in and play with others, which Anthem isn't "online" play only if I can play it alone, then it would become unplayable

There are repeated cases are people's games crashing before they even get to character select. Maybe they should fix people not being able to even play the game before they fix people crashing when trying to land in tower. Because it's impossible to go to the tower if you can't even play the game. And I don't mean immediately fix, but you didn't even mention it in the article. I'd rather them say they're actually trying to figure it out and have some sort of confirmation on them knowing about it.
