I commented that she had the depth of Duke and that was the point. I like a good story and great character just like a fancy meal, and sometimes I just want a steak or chocolate cake. Duke doesn't need to have an emotional core, ptsd and a moral conundrum, he's fine as a male power fantasy. Smut, erotic fantasy, there's an exploding genre of female focused fiction around their version of this and we're supposed to celebrate it as art and empowering and critics are told if you don't like it, don't read it. OK, let's apply that.
