Honestly at an even level after you reach Venue 10 you'll want to revert Topaz and Boothill out for Bronya and Silver Wolf, you can get more from Topaz and Boothill if the levels are unbalanced, but for the most part Bronya and Silver Wolf will earn you more.

I've been doing the same strategy for the last few months, and I would say that might hit strategy is about 90% or so, I have noticed that when going for cards above four diamonds, that there is a pattern. Starting from when the card is in the same position as when it started it tends to move one card counterclockwise after a successful pull, then One more card counterclockwise after the second pull, skips the third usually and goes straight to four cards counterclockwise before returning back to its original position and repeating, there does seem to be some slight chance It will be in another random position especially after the third successful pull in which after each miss it will go back clockwise one card unless it's in the same position it started in in which it will usually just stay in that same position until you get another successful draw.
