See AllWhy Steam's New Purchase Policy Should Be a Wake-Up Call For Fans
Complete rubbish. Yes its true that you have always had a EULA in which in you to acknowledge the ownership of the artistic content of what you have bought, your copy was yours and that it. I was never just a license. What was the game developer going to do if they no longer supported the title? Come into your house and take it back? No of course not. Things have not always been like this but have been twisted to take away rights of ownership from consumers and computer gaming history is likely being erased if we all allow this to continue. There are outlets like GOG which, many would say are the same as steam but they are not. You don't need the launcher to play and they games and you don't even need an internet connection and the games you buy can be backed up and removed entirely from the machine they were downloaded on and still be played quite happily without any kind of logins etc. There needs to be some kind of legal investigation into this as we are not talking about something that's just small print but rather the slow removal of peoples rights of ownership. "You will own nothing and be happy", remember that one! Wake up people!
