To be clear, from my understanding, anything you bring in will be a flat $5 in-store credit, and anything that can be donated will be donated. Locations are provided with nearby charities etc to bring them to.
Toys, canned food, stuffed animals, whatever you can imagine would be good to donate right before Christmas is ideal.
I wish they were more transparent about this because it's a good thing!
