Yeah I can see why this game lost most it's nominations. It DOES speak to the quality of the game, however. The executives shouldn't have EVER meddled with Nomura's work, and SHOULD have let him write whatever he was initially writing for Rebirth. Lot's of broken promises, for something that ended up more "meh" in substance, with too much focus on being flashy. The original story was GUTTED and all that runtime replaced with mini-games NO ONE asked for. All the praise and critical acclaim this damnation received, was surely paid off, as usual with Square's business.

Hopefully, the poor financial performance, and losing Game of the Year TWICE, will put fire up their rear-ends, and the devs can put this series back on the right track. Ever Crisis' The First Soldier narrative, is the ONLY hope at this point, of FF7R series getting back on track, and actually focusing on what fans TRULY want, and WOULD really want in an FF7 game.
