Avid Bethesda Fan here. 1000's of hours on the Fallout games, and almost as much on the Elder Scrolls series. Waited for ages (and ages) for Starfield to be released.
It's pretty empty as the author notes except for duplicate missions from a mission terminal after. Main story is weaksauce and, unlike Fallout or Elder Scrolls, there isn't anything to really do in the openworld environment aside from philanthropy.
Mods have fixed a portion of this with new content that is briefly entertaining, but Starfiled is still hollow at its core.
