Temporary Party Members, while annoying to some, make for a compelling plot device for others. It's good to see some games use them to reinforce their themes or leave a lasting impact. As long as they return the items you spent money on to you, I don't even have a problem with their gameplay.

Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn had truly exceptional stories that have yet to be recapture by the series to date. I would propose a story like that, some level of interaction outside of battles with allies that extend past something like Awakening's barracks, but keep Engage's redefined elements.

I was not a fan whatsoever of Kingdom Hearts III. It may be my cynical nostalgia bias or the fact that the story and gameplay were both extraordinarily mediocre at it's core, or that the series lost it's magic by this point, etc. Regardless, the Kingdom Hearts I grew up with is gone, so it's up to me to accept the future and hopefully KH4 will redeem this.
