Frieren is the most overrated anime out right now, and people need to stop acting like it’s some masterpiece. It’s not deep, it’s just slow. Dragging out empty moments doesn’t create meaning, it just bores the audience. The only real hook is the elf aesthetic, and once you strip that away, there’s nothing left but a dull, lifeless story. Critics love to glaze it because it pretends to be mature, while they trash shows like Solo Leveling that are actually exciting and deliver what anime is supposed to: energy, momentum, and entertainment. Frieren isn’t brilliance, it’s boredom wrapped in fan service, and no amount of awards or critic hype changes that.
