They should leave the trilogy alone. Either port it to new consoles and PC, or give it the GameCube RE 2002 remake treatment. Norse and Greek Gows are very different from each other. If they try to force the gameplay and features of the Norse Saga, it's bound to fail.

From a gameplay perspective, and here I'm not talking about the story or anything else (because, the way I see it, you game journalists are only concerned about the story) let me remind you that the original God of War was made to be a gory hack-and-slash game with some platforming elements. You take that away, and it's no longer God of War.
