Having never played it before I thought I'd try it on PC Gamepass, why not, it's free, right? I played for about an hour and uninstalled it, I don't know what improvements they made over the original other than the graphics, but it just feels old and clunky, everything about it from the controls, to the shooting, the fov, the camera...maybe it was good once, today it's just meh.

Played the Beta Thur/Fri/Sat and Sun, had a blast, it's great return to form for Battlefield, it has all those little things that make it immediately identifiable as a BF game and the performance is good, responsiveness feels great, ttk feel pretty much spot on for the most part, very little to actually complain about. There's a few things that are going to need attention, but nothing that spoils the enjoyment of the game.

I'd like to see a much more stripped down version of BF, more like the older versions. Keep it straight forward and simple. I can't stand the way a lot of games try to force you on everyday to grind and unlock stuff. That's what I'd like to avoid, unlocks, don't lock weapons, gadgets and useable things away. Have everything available from the start, restrict any unlockables to purely aesthetic items and level rewards like dog tags, badges and stuff.

He needs to shut up, Gamepass is the best subscription service there is for gamers. I'm tired of hearing about what's good for developers and publishers, because what's good for them, is usually the exact opposite of what's good for gamers.

Here's a little story: Once upon time, gamers could play games without the need to connect to an online service, many years were spent by many people playing their favourite games, there was even a magical thing called "Dedicated Private Servers" for online multiplayer games that were maintained, and paid for by gamers themselves, usually through a small community of players and it didn't cost developers or publishers a penny and everything was good in the world....

Until one day, the big bad publishers decided they didn't like people being able to play their games as long as they wanted, they wanted more control over how, when and even if gamers could play their games...so, they took away "Private Dedicated Server" for multiplayer games and claimed it was for the gamers benefit, so they could make everything better for everyone...but that was a lie...and it wasn't for the gamers benefit at all, it was so they could control and shutdown the servers whenever they wanted and effectively kill the game....

...and that wasn't the end of it, next, they targeted single player games with a "Live Service" component, that they again claimed was a benefit to gamers...but we all knew that it wasn't true and what their real intention was...to kill the game whenever they chose, citing how expensive it is for them to keep maintaining it....even though it was them and their fault that it became expensive in the first place and didn't actually need to be....

The worst I used to get was back in the day from overclocking, pushing too hard would invariably lead a bsod and then a boot loop. That was what led me to start making an image of a fresh install, with just the apps and drivers installed, I also started using a separate HDD just for the My Documents folder, and another for games.

Why does this article state that reactions were/are mixed to the early trailers? They clearly were not, they were decidedly negative, the like to dislike ratio made it absolutely clear. Same with the general opinion about the quality of the game, it wasn't "some" gamers that were worried about it being subpar, it was most gamers. Also, general opinion among gamers hasn't changed, the only thing that been positive is the critics reviews of the game, which as anyone knows these days, aren't worth the keyboard they were typed on.
