One very simple way to fix for those like me who actualy prefer it this way and those who prefer it the other way

Near summon is with a tap while ranged summon is aimed with a held press,

or put the feature as a toggle in settings, keep both settings in game and make it a toggle, Because i for one find it handy to summon your mount right next to you and figured out quickly that getting stuck summoning in base doesnt happen when they land in the middle of a foundation (havnt summoned on 2nd story roof)
