Even if the fourth was a dog Minato would still be Minato. The question should be would you prefer the 4th to be a dog and Minato to be a jonin who sacrificed himself for the village

It wasn't about being the hokage, it was about becoming the hokage

The aim was to show what journey he went through to become the hokage, not him as the hokage.

Both the anime and manga ending were perfect and made sense.

One showed the bonds and love he had achieved along his journey while the other was a great setting for the new gen.

I'll rather watch/read Naruto becoming the hokage a million times than him being the hokage
