See AllStar Trek: Warp Catchphrases, Explained
I think that the idea that a starship captain (especially in Star Trek) has to come up with a cool catchphrase when giving the command for the ship to jump to faster-than-light speeds is a little silly. One, that's something that should be the captain's prerogative. And, two, what's wrong with using a generic command for jumping to warp speed? "Execute" and "Engage" are clearly suppose to be generic command phrases. And I'm pretty sure that the command phrase "Engage" is not exclusively limited to Picard, either, even though he has, most famously, used that phrase the most. I don't recall whether or not Kirk, or Spock, ever used the phrase even once, and I'm not sure about Archer, or Sisko, using the phrase, but I do remember Janeway saying the phrase at least once, as well as a Klingon captain saying the phrase in the Klingon language. Zephram Cochrane also used the phrase in "Star Trek: First Contact". I, personally, like using the phrase "Engage" for warp speed jumps, and that is only partially because of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" being my first foray into the Star Trek fandom back in 1993.
Star Trek: How A 1967 Production Memo Debunked a Long-Held TOS Fan Theory
I could care less about whether or not the current Starfleet Delta Insignia that we all know and love today was intended to be the insignia used by all Starfleet personnel in TOS Star Trek. But, in light of this 1967 memo resurfacing, and the fact that there are alternate Starfleet insignias in established canon for the TOS era, perhaps the current writers and other production staff for Star Trek should come up with a good in-universe explanation for the different insignias in canon without contradicting the intentions given in the memo regarding the Starfleet Delta Insignia. Then all fans can be more or less satisfied with the revelation of the 1967 memo without worrying about its effects on established canon.
