Story is all well and good, but a story is just that... We play Mechwarrior games, because we like to customize and come up with new builds. The mech lab in this game is just awful and is a backwards step, I don't know why they decided to do it this way when the MWO method is the best way.
Missing mechs/equipment... Where are the clan heavy lasers? Where are the clan hero mechs? Only 16 playable campaign Mechs? Only 4 of each class of mechs Seriously.....??
Probably down the line, PGI will release a quick cash grab with 4 new mechs or something as a DLC.
The AI is also terrible. 4 other mechs in a lance or star, and they just sit there and do nothing. I shouldn't have to keep spamming 'Attack My Target' all the time. I don't understand why it's so difficult to program a decent AI from the get-go!
Performance and optimization is also terrible, a 3070 @1440p should have no problems running this game at 60fps.
Overall this game, isn't really a step up from mercs, in fact - I think it's a step back. I just hope that Mechwarrior 6, PGI might actually deliver something worthy of player's time and money, But I won't hold my breath...
