Totally agree that Naruto's story should continue in another Manga.
Ikemoto dropped the ball with Boruto big time. The world of Naruto was so ripe for a more adult take on the story. Fans who grew up loving Naruto was just the right audience for that next phase. A darker, more serious tone where the stakes are much higher and the themes more brutal and hopeful at the same time would have been outstanding.
Instead he chose to write another shonen story, with mixed results at the cost of sacrificing legacy characters that have earned their right to be in the main story.
IDK if it's just a habit of Japanese and Korean authors, but their track record of following up on their great works have been more failures than successes, just because they seem to be allergic to giving readers what they want or continuing to write about characters whose stories have already been told.

Well Oda never had any sense of scale and balance. It's always upping the ante and Deus Ex machina in each arc. The side of the Pirates were always portrayed as weaker instead of strong enough to deter the Elders, the World Government and the Celestials. Sheesh.
