See All'Ruined' Cookie Run: Kingdom Players Are Not Happy About the New Secret Garden
It sure does feel like it, and I'll explain why:
During Hollyberry Cookie's awakening event, secret garden worked by swiping your finger on the screen to push every possible object in that direction. It made for clever plays, interesting clutches, and I personally had a lot of fun and played it a lot.
Now that it was brought back for White Lily Cookie's awakening event, that swipe-to-push core functionality has been changed to tapping on a decoration then tap again on a highlighted square to merge it with any directly adjacent decor. This instantly brought some issues.
1) Decorations, especially high-level ones, are extremely prone to sticking to corners or sides of the board, making them clutter up the already small 4×4 field. In the older version, however, that problem was almost nonexistent because you could freely move everything around with just a few swipes of your finger. This leads to problem number 2.
2) This minigame feels stale and repetitive now. There's not really anything happening, and since decors of the same level basically always spawn diagonally to eachother, you have no way of merging them. This clutters up the field extremely quickly and had me resort to using hammers way before I would've done so in the older version.
All in all, I know that DevSisters was trying to make the minigame's progression harder (Since you could get a lot of things out of it when it secondly appeared in Hollyberry's awakening update), but I feel like this was the wrong way to do it. The shop items are so expensive, and honestly, the hype for secret garden returning died after about 30 seconds actually playing it. (By the way, by older I mean its appearance in Hollyberry Cookie's awakening update, not Pure Vanilla's.)
