It doesn't make Venu obsolete at all, especially with the card that makes Grass good, Serperior. On a 1 to 1 scale, yea sure Primarina is undoubtedly better, but this game exists with more than just Primarina and Venusaur. Grass has Erika, Leaf Cape, and Serperior. Water has Irida, Manaphy, and Vaporeon. You can't really single out individual cards and put them against each other because there are other cards that can make different decks work better in different situations.
