The funny thing is, the point of DRM is to prevent piracy but this is just going to cost them more money than it'll save them. Any video game that doesn't directly require a connection to a game server can be pirated, DRM or not. Sure, maybe it'll take a little longer to get around the DRM but the "Pirates that are willing to pay full price for a game if they can't get it pirated shortly after launch" demographic isn't nearly big enough to justify DRM.
