They really need to either let the player choose, alternate the energy, or let the player choose a pattern (like 2 main, 1 secondary).
Adding yet another RNG based loss mechanic makes dual or more color decks a huge risk when your opponent is guaranteed energy they can use.
I had 2 Mew-Two tanks in a primarily grass deck, had no Mew-Twos on the board and only needed 1 grass to make an attempt to win... 5 psychic energy in a row.
