Major mistake. This is a mod that does not affect gameplay, and people will probably find other ways to do the same. Open source if they need to. FFXIV already isn't doing too well in this expansion, and making decisions like this is only going to make more people leave the game. This ancient idea that modding is bad for their game is ridiculous. It makes the game more enjoyable for a wider audience. People will always find a way; they can't stop this. They'd better invest the money it costs to pursue this anti-mod crusade in making their game better. They need it.

Raiding has become boring, with the same formula since forever and the same boring, grindy content outside of raiding. They need to add some major changes, or they'll be losing faster than they are now, and this is not helping.
