See AllNew Witcher 4 Update Could Be Bad News For PC Gamers
CDPR's focus on consoles isn't necessarily a bad thing for PC users. This reduces the risk of development delays like they had on Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 was developed around a high end PC. So when they had to downscale to consoles they got into a lot of problems they had to fix. For some consoles like PS4 the problems were so big that the game was unplayable on release.
When they now develop Witcher 4 around consoles then CDPR won't have to downscale the game before release. Instead they can upscale the game for PC. E. G. For the console they aim to render the game at about 900p and using upscalers to get the images to 4K. For high end PC's they can render the game at 4k and not need to use upscalers at all.
I think focusing on consoles is the correct approach and will most likely prevent another Cyberpunk 2077 release debacle.
It's possible Witcher 4 will be released near the release date of the new console versions and then we will have immediate support for these versions too since the game will work on PS5 and XBox X.
In my opinion they should ditch the support for XBox S. Trying to support that version might affect which Unreal 5.6 functionality they can introduce in Witcher 4.
