Disagree. Most of the non canon movies are not very good and they should use that money to make normal episodes better. These non canon films always mislead the newcomers and is nothing more than making the cash. Atleast the money is going in right place. The movies adapted what they would have adapted if they made it a tv season.

And you are exaggerating about the Batman incident. Just beacuse a mad guy went into theater and shot people and the incident only happened ONCE doesn't mean you will get shot if you go and watch any film. US has a lot of school shooting so it won't mean that you would left the school and leave yourself totally unsocialised.

And the merchandising thing is what you like. Just because they made a compilation film doesn't mean you won't support the actual thing because the studio is milking it. Use your common sense. If Just because Sony milks the hell out of Spider-Man, you won't buy or watch any Spider-Man film or merch even if it is good.
