This should definitely be optional only, select new game then Story or 72 hour mode. Feeling rushed is not immersive, being able to explore freely and immerse yourself in the gameplay is. I do think it would be good for people who really like to speedrun things and are up for the challenge. So yes to it being optional, give both types of gamers what they want and you stand to make more money. Dont alienate a portion of the fanbase just for something new and risk losing money.
