RDR2 has mods which turn the survival and conditions mechanics up to an extreme. They are a novelty that's fun for a while, but quickly start damaging the fun of a game. So, there's a point of collapsing returns which Rockstar should be careful of.

Played the story several times on PS4 right at release, and even did a 100% playthrough during covid. Picked the game up on Steam recently, and with some mods and customized save files (one with all story done, everything and everywhere unlocked, but all the side quests and open world collectibles available) and it's a wonderful relaxing chill out option for evenings. RDR2 still feels like the peak open world masterpiece.
