Actually Steven Spielberg had said a while back if they do another Gremlins he does not want the Gremlins to be CGI and wants to actually be the gremlin puppets like the original films.

Hopefully for Goonies that they do more practical effects and not all the CGI also.

It was more then the script. It says he spent $500,000 creating, writing, and developing a movie package that included a script, an animated trailer, and storyboards.

He may have written the script but it costs money to have story boards and a animated trailer made. Damn I made a trailer was probably pretty expensive. I don't know if it was actually 500,000 for all this but it could be quite expensive.

That being said Disney has been known to rip people off due to copyright in the past. There was like an Alice in Wonderland drawing this lady created and Disney made basically an identical drawing to use to sell on their products and it's clearly exactly the same.

I also know a friend that's written scripts and stuff and done work with Disney and they talk about how they never get the credit that they should of.

I could totally believe that this happened but it's probably going to be hard to prove that Disney Store anything from them. Unless they have some sort of like proof of like storyboards or something that they've used so hopefully they find that information.
