I avoided the game as a result of the decision. Experience says it will welcome to a ganky mess.

The truth is they did this because they didn't want to put in the effort the pve fixes would require. PVP is cheap "content" to add and brings in a fair bit of money.

Maybe a hot take for society, but personal opinion Fortnite was a much more interesting concept as it was...

That aside, it is Epic, so the gamer hate comments from their leadership would have turned me off either way.
