Look man, I've said it once and I'll say it again, I feel their feelings towards each other weren't genuine feelings but a trauma bond. Going through such traumatic events together, being the weakest and the healer, they spent a lot of time together. People tend to bond and develop feelings for each other due to a connection in trauma. I don't think their relationship would have worked.
