See AllSilent Hill f’s Combat Has Some Fans Concerned
The weapon wear down mechanism was used in Silent Hill Downpour, and many other games, so nothing new there in that regard. I do think that the stamina/dodge soul-like elements are tiresome and will rob the joy from this game fast. This is certainly not a welcomed addition. Silent hill was always about the atmosphere and the kind of dread that comes from exploring the unreal surroundings. Never about combat agility or tough bosses.
This game is a departure in many aspects, and like the many ways the frenchise have tried to reinvent itself through the years, already looking like another " this shouldn't be called silent hill at all".
Square Enix Requests Life is Strange Feedback Following Poor Sales
have to agree about LIS 2, that one really got on my nerves. All choices were bad, and I really hated the ungrateful little kid. So at some point I just stopped.
Square Enix Requests Life is Strange Feedback Following Poor Sales
I played it and I actually did like it., LIS has a tradition of having the choices be hard. The first game ending had a very dividing ( and let's face it lose: Lose) choice and everyone wished for a better ending. Avoiding spoilers here, I chose an ending after my heart and this sequel made it clear nothing worked out as planned right off the bat. Kept hoping until the very end for something to change about this. Maybe it does for people who made other choices.
My
biggest disgust was the add ons, what measly adds ( costumes and adopting a
cat sub story ) were expensive as hell. Seriously with the game costing around
60$ at launch do you think we want to go in and throw down an extra $20 for
petting a Cat? That was fu#!ng greedy, there even a warning within the game
that you should buy the DLC before the story progresses beyond the " pay
$20 to adopt a cat" point.
This
type of shenanigans is just plain turn off for me..
I
liked the story. I liked the characters. I think it was not that bad and felt
right at home for LIS veterans. And yes, like every super hero book or novel..
With great power comes great responsibility so the marvel comparison does not hold water.. It did not feel like a
MCU rip off at all.
Maybe
it did sell poorly because the superhero/special power genere is overdone by
now.
Or
maybe it's simply that, being a sequel to a problematic-end-choice game to
begin with, there were not enough die-hard fans that still carry the flame.
But
the game itself was not bad at all and very much in veins with the previous,
and I recommend it to anyone who loved Sam and Chloe in the past.
But
can't help a little vindictive for the greedy publisher and their overpriced
DLC.
Xbox May Be Done With Permanent Console Exclusives
The one thing Xbox always had over Sony PS is the backward compatibility. Microsoft invested in this and it was amazing to be able to play original Xbox discs on Xone, with even minor enhancement to graphics etc.
This is something Sony has always criminally neglected, with no disc support for PS3 and PS2 games on newer consoles ( you tecnically could play PS1 games on PS3 however region locked) and the surge of few PS1 releases on PS5 limited to subscribers only is too little and way too lame.
