I think you’re looking at this as an all-or-nothing system with PvP, and that kind of rigidity won’t sustain the game long-term. Sure, some players want the full-on PvP chaos, but most people will burn out from the toxic behavior that inevitably comes with it. As the casual crowd leaves, the PvP-focused players will get bored too, and when the big streamers move on to the next hot thing, the population will crater.
For Arc Raiders to survive, there has to be some middle ground. Things like a bounty system that temporarily tracks aggressive players, expanded safe-zones, or even a “non-lethal” PvP option where downed players can recover and finish the run. There are ways to balance tension and fairness without gutting the PvP aspect entirely. If nothing changes, though, the game’s lifespan will be short the moment a new competitor shows up.
