See AllDoom: The Dark Ages Players Aren't Happy With 'Lame' Difficulty Change
Yeah that's not the problem. The problem is this cancer.
Parry window - There's a lot of parrying flashy attacks, and this determines how forgiving the window of time to parry is, ranging from "small" to "large"
Enhanced targeting - Auto aim by a fancy name. This setting reduces the need for precision if turned on.
Empowered attacks - This makes enemies more likely to have their attacks interrupted when hit. It can be turned on or off.
Damage to player - Modifies how much demon attacks hurt you. Ranges from 50% to 500%.
Damage to demons - Modifies how much your attacks hurt enemies. Goes as low as 50% and as high as 1000%.
Enemy aggression - Multiple enemies are more likely to attack at the same time when this is high, and they'll attack more often. Has four settings ranging from "least" to "most". Daze duration - Determines how long demons remain "dazed" and vulnerable to your executions and "Glory Strikes". Slides between 50% and 150%.
Enemy projectile speed - How quickly ranged enemy attacks move, with five settings from "slow" to "fast". Not all projectiles are affected, warns the game.
Resource values - The lower this is, the less health, armour, and ammo you'll get for each individual pickup. Comes with five settings ranging from "low" to "high".
None of these settings affect trophies, there is no difficulty trophy, and they are not even seperated into a mode for kids......
All Oblivion Remastered Difficulty Levels Explained
"Thankfully, there are no difficulty achievements/trophies in Oblivion Remastered, and the difficulty level can be changed at any time." I'm going to use this as an opportunity to rant about a problem in modern gaming in general that i think is important.
Previously quoted text is the problem. I can't justify playing the game at harder difficulty levels because all you're doing is making enemies more tanky. The extra xp that comes from that is meaningless since i can one shot enemies on the lowest difficulty and tank any attack anyway.
There isn't even a trophy for difficulty that would at least give you an excuse to do it. I know Oblivion is an old game and this is the way the original did things too but it was a different time. We were more ignorant of these things back then. These days i can't stand when a game does this.
I tried to get into Deathloop a few weeks ago only to realise it literally has an option to one shot enemies right in the settings.. No penalty. No trophy for playing without it, nothing. This is fast becoming a cancer in gaming.
"Let people play how they want". Sure i don't mind these settings as long as they disable trophies. Maybe put them in a difficulty setting below easy for kids or something but i can't play a game with them off when i know the challenge is virtually artificial, like i'm just imposing the difficulty on myself.. It's like, there's a button right there shouting at me saying just turn off the difficulty, most people are doing it anyway and it affects nothing.
It's not a willpower issue. It's an "I feel like i'm playing the game wrong" issue. It started with jrpg remasters where in order to offset the slower loading times, animations etc, they just give you a setting to speed the game up 4X lol. That's not how you speed up an old game you change bits here and there. Remove loading times, tighten up animations etc. Do what you gotta do but don't just through a turbo mode in. You wouldn't do it with any other genre.
