I think it's interesting to understand how the story is meant to mirror the real world Israeli / Palestine conflict, where the cycle of violence and revenge won't go away until at least one side decides to accept that they won't get their revenge.

Ellie turns away from Dina, her Jewish girlfriend, and chooses revenge only to give up later on, but by then it's too late to return to Dina.

Weird, I saw the reply, and then it disappeared, then it came back when I refreshed. I got the notification still, so that's cool.

Lol Aloy sure does yap a lot when she's giving hints, but I don't feel like there's much depth to the character.

I absolutely agree we need some turnover in the writer rooms. I have to wonder if stale, uninspired writing has always been an issue, but it feels like it's more common than ever today.

The thing that bothers me most about this is that I feel like the only reason they make movies about games is because they value brand recognition over quality. It looks like they're so desperate to make video games similar to movies that they think they can make them interchangeable. The best part about video games is their interaction with the gamer, and how we can even change a story's outcome, but it seems it will always be in the shadow of movies which are taken more seriously.

I don't know why they feel they need to keep making games into movies. Good games don't make good movies because the whole point of a game is the interaction.

It also doesn't help games like Horizon who have a mostly bland and personality free main character. The silent protagonist works great in games, not as well in movies.

One thing TLOU2 did that probably won't be topped for many years to come is that they managed to create one of the most divisive sequels in decades. In turn, they inspired dozens of fan ideas and discussions on how to rewrite the story.

I still feel like it's a little too soon. I also wonder if there's any consideration of it's mixed reviews that's holding them back? Many didn't like the shift towards action in the later games.

The fact that they're going to remake these games is great news. If they can make them as good as RE2 remake, then I'll be thrilled. Many fans never even played these, it'll be an all new experience to me.
