Monster Hunter Wilds
I love almost everything about Monster Hunter Wilds. I got an enjoyable story with a solid conclusion, complete with ending credits. Then hit with High Rank that makes things feel even more Monster Hunter. The vast arrangement of weapons means you always have a different way to play whenever you want a fresh take on combat.
Initially I found the game too easy, so I started juggling different weapons to find one that I didn't quite get the full feel for but was still fun. My biggest gripe with MH Wilds is how it handles co-op. I would have much preferred being able to invite a friend into my game and that they would stay with me between hunts.
Assassin's Creed Shadows
AC Shadows is not a bad game; it provides a nice blend of story, combat, stealth, and collectibles. I just found it to be not much of a challenge. The combat is very streamlined and fluid, but I found myself able to run past most enemies rather than fight them. When I did run into a fight, it didn't matter if I was surrounded or not, and I could almost always fight my way out. I also found it far too easy to remain hidden when being stealthy and could run away from fights.
While there are enemies that can one-shot players when they are not ready, they did not provide any challenge when faced at the correct level. If the game provided more weight to its combat and made being detected more nerve-racking, I feel it would get a 9 for me.
