Please tell me those images in the gallery aren't supposed to be this "official concept art" that's been "revealed last year".

BF1 was the last good title. Truly well-made, polished, with a killer OST and great mechanics. Like different melee weapon categories, the cavalry class or the AT class pickup, or the sweet-spot for snipers, for example.

If they want my purchase, they need to get rid of the hero shooter nonsense with named characters and all that entails, as well as any form of "mercenary companies"-related narrative. I want to be a faceless soldier fighting for my country, whether that happens to be the US, Russia, China, or even the MEC—bring back the MEC! The foxdonut has not been found yet!—during the current match, not a named hero character with some sort of alleged backstory I will never care about. Keep the class perks if you want, sure, but remove any of the more "recent additions" in all their shapes and sizes.

But whom are we kidding, the chances of this not being awful <current year> gigaslop are astronomical. Then again, given what happened to Concord last year, EA might have pulled the plug on whatever they already had, and tried to do a belated course correction. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
