The original characters are the ones that people want to see, and with the exception of just a few, nobody cares about the new characters. Disney has done a terrible job developing storylines for long-standing characters, making changes to the characters which make them less appealing to audiences; whether that is neutering the Hulk or making Thor a parody of itself. The MCU had better quickly about face their approach while introducing the mutants or else lose their audience.
