A non-Monster Hunter wizard friend who's first experience into Monster Hunter is Wilds finished the final Low Rank quest with about 18 hours or so in. Granted, they did stop to make random armor sets periodically.

You had only just finished Low Rank, Matthew. The true game begins once you enter High Rank.
Shoot. I finished the last quest in Chapter 6 and jumped from HR40 up to 77. I'm currently sitting at Hunter Rank 191 after getting the final achievement last night.
