See AllXbox 360 Gets Unexpected Update
A lot of DLC is still available but it's not accessible from the console. Go to the Xbox store to games then backwards compatible games for the system you're looking for. The DLC can be hard to find if you don't know where to look or you're just casually scanning. After selecting the game from the menu click the game then click Learn More. This takes you to the screen where you can buy or add to a wish list or cart. Some of the DLC will be on that page if you scroll down. Often that is not all the DLC and there is a Show All in the same area that you can click. If there's any additional DLC available it will be shown along with the other DLC on a separate page.
Please understand that a lot of games do not have their DLC listed anymore. Fear 3 is a good example. It just has the game and a lot of games are like that. On the most popular games most of the DLC is still there. If you want to buy something like Fallout New Vegas all the DLC is available and when the game goes on sale so does the DLC. I bought Metal Gear Revengeance and it seemed like most of the DLC was there for it. I bought Rage (not a bad game) and all of the DLC was available for it. It just really depends on the title.
Now if you owned the DLC in the past for a game that's available under a different method. I haven't had any problems but I'm also going to Future proof it by buying a hard drive and putting all of my games and DLC on it for when they finally give up on the 360.
Hope this helps.
Microsoft Bringing More Xbox Games to PlayStation and Nintendo
Just read the comments here. The real truth is that making hardware affordable to customers and even being affordable is starting to be a stretch, companies lose hundreds of dollars per console. Game budgets are now as big as movie budgets or bigger but software sales and accessory sales are where companies make money and profit as well.
If you truly understand the technology there isn't that much difference between the consoles anymore. An Xbox or PlayStation are not that different anymore. Both have became closer to gaming PCs. The difference between the brands, with the exception of Nintendo doing their own thing, is very small.
The games are where the differences truly show up. Each company makes their own style of games with their exclusives. I like both brands and how they both feel different.
Simply but if Xbox stops making consoles tomorrow and became a third party publisher, Xbox games would still feel like Xbox games the way they do on PC.
People need to get over calling other people fan boys and other names. That stuff hasn't mattered in a long time.
