Just like everyone's been saying this list is kinda lack luster and its a crying shame that Dragons Dogma1&2, Divinity 1&2, Solesta Crown of the magister, and one of my favorites "Summoner" isn't on here. (If Morrowind can be, so can Summoner)
So true, while they are great games it's a bit of a stretch to say they are instantly fun. Maybe a better narrative angle could have been used to portray this in a light much less black and white.
I just don't like that isometric rpg is now used synonymously turn-based tactics. It seems old categories that use to be prominent in correctly describing game genres are now being blended or replaced with newer catchy jargon that doesn't really gice much description to the game. Its just catchy or new cool sounding term that gets its own category. A game can have more than one subgenre, but I guess its easier to just make up new stuff. That's all 🥲
Check out "World of horror" a game made by a small studio that was inspired by Junji Ito's works. Its an rpg horror survival where you go through mysteries, fight horrors, and maintain your sanity to hopefully staff off a cosmic horror for another 100 or so years.
Meh, These list always forget Getter Robo and Daemon Bane who could both bump the top list without much effort. They rarely even get a mention while Gurren Lagann is always seen as the best because its flashy sure but its not the cream of the mecha crop. 4th or 3rd slot is where it should be.
