Yes. It's not Ryu Gaiden, it's Ninja Gaiden. Multiple story arcs with multiple characters will make the IP colossal. It would be more enjoyable for each to have their own individual games, then come together for a big sha bang once a decade. Also, I believe Team Ninja is trying to expand the lore so they can make an anime and potential live action movie. Anime has been taking the world by storm. Team Ninja sees the success of Devil May Cry, Sekiro No Defeat is coming out, Ghost of Tsushima anime + movie. Team Ninja is joining the party and I hypothesize that is their greater goal making Ryu take the back seat. So excited for Ninja Gaiden's future!
