My wife is Japanese, and I mean from Japan where we met. Not western japanese. When I told her about this game she wasn't disturbed by the main character being black but she was disturbed by all the disrespectful things Ubisoft did. Like the half Tori gate from Nagasaki. The wrongly used flags etc (which Ubisoft supposedly fixed now) now this thing with the temple.

For me it's a big L when Ubisoft claims authenticity and doing so much research and then mess things up so badly.

Yasuke was most likely NOT a samurai, they clearly read the wiki page on him which was mostly originally written by a guy that wanted to sell his book.

Doesn't mean the actual Yasuke didn't have a fascinating life. Going from slave to a retainer for Nobunaga back to probably a slave again is absolutely fascinating. Why not tell that story??

And of course there is the Ubisoft rule: don't buy Ubisoft games on release, cause in 6 months you can get it for 20 bucks.

But I'll be skipping this one entirely.

I'm actually a bit done with the spiderman games. Loved the first one, a bit seen that done that with Miles. Haven't played Spidey 2 yet and maybe I'll try it sometime on a big discount. I don't want insomniac to become the "Marvel" studio. Hope they will do an original new IP again soon.
