English language dubs are just American dubs. They don't add anything substantive to the game and often actively detract from the original intention of the voice acting direction. Especially for a game on a Japanese setting like Persona 5, it's an unequivocal downgrade over the original experience.

Look at the Yakuza series of games, they're thriving and after the failed dubs of the Playstation 2 era, they've found their feet with the authentic original voiceworks done by a cast chosen by the original game directors. Persona fits that same mould.
