Tom maggot is a touch situational for sure but with the right characters and passives it's a super fun ball to play around with. I did one run combining maggot with holy laser with shade as one of my selected characters and it was so ridiculously broken. The entire screen just lit up with constant laser beam flashes lol. Aiming in any particular direction was pointless. Shade with cohabitants is a pretty powerful combo when using maggot build. The amount of balls you get on screen is savage. I find maggot is best with flagellent though because the balls bounce off all 4 sides of the screen. Maggot is also good with repentant and ethereal cloak because balls will pass through enemies and hit them again with pass through when they hit the back wall or pairing repentant with the other character that allows balls to pierce the front side of enemies, can't remember the characters name. Hands down though maggot works best with flagellant. If and when you get a chance, try maggot with an evolved AOE eith the right characters, I highly recommend it with holy laser or overgrowth so long as you have passives that allows pierce. It's damage potential is pretty insane as well.

I couldn't disagree more with placing maggot in D-teir, maggot by itself is not a great damage dealer, but combined with any evolved AOE and/or status effect ball and it absolutely destroys. Match i just played using The flagellant and The Shade i combined maggot with Noxious and phantom corset passive and I was able to hit a dps of 2196.59 for baby balls and a dps of 5320.28 with noxious maggot combo. Do not underestimate maggot, it is extremely powerful with the right setup. Total damage from noxious maggot ball was 1.687 million with 30 launches. Imo, maggot is the most broken ball in the game.
