Completely agree. I rarely buy AAA games at release any more, typically waiting months or even over a year. I'm quicker to support AA or indie studios, but even then I usually wait for reviews to be safe. Been burned too many times.

Part of me thinks they will honestly use AI responsibly and wants to have faith, but part of me is afraid success is going to their head and becoming just another money-grubbing developer. Bottom line, confidence in them has been shaken, but not lost.

I agree it's just a tool and it can do amazing things in the right hands, but my concern is that tool will be used poorly for the goal of shaving cost rather than making a great game. Time will tell which studios excel with it and which crash and burn.
