See AllMonster Hunter Wilds Has a Scaling Issue
I haven't tried multiplayer lobbies yet since my Ps Plus subscription lapsed before the game's release, but I definitely feel the difficulty is lacking.
I understand the drive towards accessibility and I'm familiar with how the development team ramps up difficulty over DLC and the master rank expansions, but this goes beyond all that. My first attempts at every single tempered monster so far ended without the slightest risk of carting and under 10 min hunt times on my first attempt. The current endgame is terribly trivial already. So I'm now grinding for various awards and armor/weapons I really don't need.
I feel like they designed everything on par with World except didn't adjust for the new wound system because using wounds easily triples (or more) the damage, and stunability or interrupts of a monster's moveset. It feels like a cheat code to making every fight way too easy. Combine that with multiple people causing and breaking wounds on the same monster, and I could see how it breaks the game regardless of the scaling. Any fight will be a joke when any monster is stunlocked and taking 3x+ damage.
I love the game and entire series though. I trust they'll move it in the right direction. I've been a huge fan since MH on the PSP and played every entry to death since then. The wound and focus system is brilliant and a great addition, but definitely needs some adjustments.
