And Israel if it is not the same Max, why not create an entirely new character and story? Answer: To try and bring the original audience back. I, a member of the original audience, felt this was a poor choice, because Max was the most boring part of the original game (to me). And yes, real teenagers are not interesting-- but she is not a real teenager, she is a protagonist of a story and characters in stories should be interesting to justify their existence in said story.

Max Caulfield has always been the least interesting character in the series. She was created to be a one-off 'blank slate' character and now she exists far past what was intended-- she's dull. Her dynamic with Chloe was the only thing that made her an interesting protagonist, I had literally no interest in playing a game about ONLY Max Caulboring. Didn't even buy it.
